Linnea Hurttia is a concert violinist and holds the Master of Music degree in Sibelius Academy and The University of Music, Drama and Media Hanover. She is the 1st prize winner in the International H. Eller Violin Competition and has performed multiple times as a soloist with Finnish and Estonian orchestras. She has given recital and chamber music concerts in the US, Japan, many European countries and throughout Finland. Since 2015 Linnea Hurttia has worked as a second concertmaster at Lappeenranta City Orchestra in Finland.
The most influential teachers of Linnea Hurttia have been Araik Resjan, Seppo Tukiainen and Ulf Schneider. She has also participated in many master classes with Zakhar Bron, Shlomo Mintz and Ilya Grubert among others. Baroque violin Linnea Hurttia has studied under Midori Seiler and Stanley Ritchie.
With Odysseus string quartet Linnea Hurttia has performed extensively around the globe and taken part in the master course of the Alban Berg string quartet among others. She has appeared in many Finnish festivals including Lahti Sibelius festival, Avanti summer sounds and Turku music festival. Her playing was also heard in the Finnish Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo 2010.
